Comparing two dates on one question

Run the same population and question against different dates, and read the difference directly.

You can now run one population and one question against two dates and see the movement side by side, rather than opening two runs and doing the subtraction yourself.

Why it is useful

Because only one field changes, the difference is attributable. Move the date across a fee increase, a price change or a season, and what you see is that event’s effect rather than the combined effect of everything you altered.

Before and after a delivery fee change

Question
How do you get dinner tonight?
Dates

What to read
The shift from delivery to pickup and cooking at home
The same twins answer on both dates, so the movement between the two columns is the fee change as this population experienced it.

Choosing the dates

  • Straddle one eventPick dates close enough on either side of the change that nothing else big happened in between.
  • Mind the seasonDecember against February compares holidays with winter, not your price. Match the time of year where you can.
  • Look forward carefullyA future date asks twins to reason from the world as it is now, projected. Treat those runs with the confidence level they carry.

Where to find it

Ask the agent to compare dates in chat, or open a completed run and add a second date from the run header.
